چکیده
Iodine deficiency during pregnancy is a widespread public health concern, but indicators and methods for assessing iodine nutritional status are lacking. Serum concentration (SIC) an important metabolism biomarker can, to some extent, predict the risk of thyroid diseases, making it potential individual nutrition levels. Our study aimed analyze relationship between SIC function in cohort mild deficient pregnant women China order explore as pregnancy. A total 1540 early (gestation < 10 weeks) aged 18 45 years old were included final from Zhejiang multicenter population-based mother child cohort. Repeated measures SIC, urinary (UIC), taken at approximately 10, 17, 32 weeks gestation. The was statistically correlated with all indexes first trimester, very strong positive correlation FT4 over three trimesters (r = 0.449, 0.550, 0.544, respectively). Pregnant 72.4 µg/L higher hypothyroxinemia (adjusted OR 8.911, 95% CI 5.141–15.447) 1.244, 1.031–1.502), while those > 93.9 thyrotoxicosis 11.064, 6.324–19.357) excessive 6.324–19.357). In contrast, UIC not diseases (p 0.05). These findings indicate that dysfunction women.

Thyroglobulin as a Functional Biomarker of Iodine Status in a Cohort Study of Pregnant Women in the United Kingdom
BACKGROUND Though iodine deficiency in pregnancy is a matter of public-health concern, a functional measure of iodine status is lacking. The thyroid-specific protein thyroglobulin (Tg), which reflects thyroid size, has shown promise as a functional measure in studies of children and adults, but data in pregnancy are sparse. In a cohort of mildly to moderately iodine-deficient pregnant women, th...

Many areas in Papua New Guinea are regarded as endemic for iodine deficiency disorders (IDD). Salt iodization to combat IDD has been a policy of the government since 1973. Its effectiveness in many areas of the country has, however, not been assessed. The iodine status of pregnant women is an indicator of the iodine status of the community. This study was conducted in order to assess the effect...
متن کاملAssessment of Iodine Status in Children, Adults, Pregnant Women and Lactating Women in Iodine-Replete Areas of China
BACKGROUND Iodine deficiency disorders (IDD) are widespread in China. Presently, IDD have been put under control by Universal Salt Iodisation (USI) in China; however, there is a lack of evidence on whether the iodine status in adults, pregnant women and lactating women is optimal. This study was therefore conducted to assess the iodine nutrition and thyroid function of children, adults, pregnan...

متن کاملIodine nutrition status of pregnant women in an iodine-sufficient area.
BACKGROUND Iodine is necessary for the synthesis of thyroid hormones, which play a decisive role in the development of the brain during fetal and early postnatal life. OBJECTIVE To evaluate whether prophylaxis with 20 to 30 mg of iodine per kilogram of salt is enough to ensure optimal iodine nutrition during pregnancy in an iodine-sufficient area. METHODS A cross-sectional study of pregnant...
